There are so many myths about grief and loss when in reality:
-There are no neat and tidy stages.
-Grief is not a single emotion.
-Avoiding it doesn’t actually help you to feel better
-Time alone doesn’t heal
There’s no right way to grieve, but there are tools that can be supportive. It’s easy to bottle up painful experiences so that we don’t have to engage with them, but that doesn’t help in the long-term. Grief can make us feel isolated, so it’s not easy to seek out the help that’s needed. Whilst each person has their own journey, there’s something enriching about being held together in a group. Since grief can be overwhelming and exhausting, it’s essential that any modes of support are gentle and flexible.
A Month of Moving Through Loss is a 4- week course which incorporates weekly themes to explore, breathing exercises, mindful movement to connect with loss in the body, deep rest and journaling exercises.
As a result of A Month of Moving Through Loss you’ll:
- Experience simple and easily applicable ways of using touch, breath and movement to listen to the story that’s held in your body
- Know how to create space to feel, make sense of and explore loss
- Become more embodied by engaging with the deep intelligence of the body
