One of my first practices was based in a holistic centre for fertility and women’s health. Since that time I have had an interest in integrated care as it offers the most complete approach for women’s health.
Osteopathic treatment for Women’s Health can address symptoms related to fibroids, endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome, menopause, and pregnancy.
Fertility is an area that I am particularly interested in, both to identify any mechanical issues that might have not been addressed, as well as to support anyone going through treatment. The aims of treatment in this instance are to hold space and help to calm the nervous system as well as to optimise blood flow to the pelvic organs.
Specialised internal/ gynaecological techniques are occasionally used to resolve issues to do with the pelvic floor or other structures of the body. These can also be useful for scarring after an episiotomy or tears.
The combination of osteopathic technique and zero balancing creates a supportive and nurturing approach.
